Greig Wilkinson

I am a trainee Gestalt psychotherapist (PG dip) in my fourth year of training with Gestalt centre wales working towards UKCP accreditation.

I was introduced to gestalt therapy in 2014 and found this approach resonated deeply with me. I have personally felt the benefits in my own therapeutic journey of being truly heard without judgment, enabling and supporting increased awareness. Through compassion and empathy, I offer a supportive confidential space for you to explore and expand your own awareness to help you to navigate the many and varied challenges and struggles that life can bring.

My own experience led me to challenge the old adage that a leopard can’t change its spots, and I have learned that developing self-awareness is key to unlocking the potential for our personal development. With awareness, desire and support, real and meaningful change is always possible.

I have not had what you might consider a traditional route to training as a psychotherapist. Before embarking on my journey with Gestalt therapy I qualified with a degree in industrial design, opened and ran a hostel, have worked as a tradesman in the building industry and currently, alongside my therapy practice, run my own business as an artisan craftsman. Although perhaps not obvious, these varied experiences all have their relevance to my Gestalt therapy practice. The degree exposed me to the world of academic study. Time in hospitality nurtured my listening and interpersonal skills. My building work kept me grounded and taught me to craft and now my artistic work develops through my experimentation and creativity.

I work by the UKCP Ethical Principles and Code of Professional Conduct and hold professional liability insurance. I also have regular supervision by an accredited supervisor.

As a trainee gestalt psychotherapist, I can offer weekly one-hour sessions in Chepstow on Thursdays at £25per session.
